Taxes

CANDY HOUSE, Inc. is required to collect sales tax in California, where we have a physical presence. Sales tax is calculated based on the shipping zip code.

International Policies

Shipping & Delivery

International orders are shipped via DHL from Taiwan and should arrive within 7 business days of placing your order. We currently ship to every country except Hong Kong, Macao, India, Spain, Brazil, and Russia. For shipping to Hong Kong or Macao, please purchase Sesame from our Hong Kong distributor Manton.

Shipping is automatically calculated at checkout. Please see below for additional fees that may be incurred by your purchase.

Customs Duty, Taxes, and Fees

Most international orders will incur additional fees in the form of customs duty and taxes, and CANDY HOUSE, Inc. is not responsible for these charges, nor are these charges included in the shipping fees charged by CANDY HOUSE, Inc. Please note that we do not falsify customs declarations and cannot fulfill requestes that require us to commit customs fraud. We are required to report the actual price paid for merchandise when shipping orders and cannot mark packages as gifts.

Our default international shipper is DHL, which will advance any customs charges for express clearance purposes and then bill the receiver the full amount of the customs charges plus a handling fee. Both the customs charges and handling fee must be paid in full for you to to receive your package. If you do not wish to pay the DHL handling fee and receive your goods in 5-7 business days, you can email sesame@candyhouse.co within 24 hours of placing your order to request your order be shipped via postal service and arrive in 4-6 weeks instead. No shipping or handling fees will be refunded if you opt for shipping by post. Regardless of shipping method, all fees and duties incurred are solely the responsibility of the customer and must be paid in full to receive the goods.

If you are in the European Union, you can refer to this page for more information on the duties and fees charged. Otherwise, please refer to your own governing body's customs department for more information on the duties and fees that may be incurred by an international purchase. If the customer refuses to pay the extra charges incurred, the return shipping and any additional fees will be deducted from any refund made to you.


Currency

All pricing and invoices will be listed in USD. CANDY HOUSE, Inc. does not provide currency conversion for orders made on candyhouse.co. CANDY HOUSE, Inc. is not responsible for any currency conversion fees or foreign transaction fees that may be incurred.


Return to Sender Packages

Packages can be returned to us for many reasons. Depending on the reason for return, there may be additional charges applied to your order. Please read below for more information:

  • Packages can be returned to us for missing or incorrect address information. Please take a moment to check and make sure your address is correct. If the carrier charges us to return the package, this will be deducted from the refund or added to the re-shipment fee.
  • Packages can be returned to us if they are refused at customs for any reason. Sometimes we choose to get these packages back. If there are any customs fees and shipping charges to return your order, this will be deducted from the refund or added to the re-shipment fee.
